Philip Harris Wows Science Technicians at Kew Gardens

Philip Harris, leading educational science supplier took over Kew Gardens for the day to host a fantastic training event open to all school laboratory technicians across the UK. The event was jointly run by Philip Harris’s team of science specialists and experts from Kew Gardens, and attracted over 130 technicians. The day encourages technicians to network, learn about all the latest innovations in the world of science and enjoy themselves in the lovely surroundings of Kew Gardens.

The first session of the day explored Philip Harris’s latest innovation to the marketplace, their Datalogger “Acquire”; followed by sessions such as Physics for the Frightened; Tissue culture techniques made foolproof and a Palm House rainforest tour.

How To Draw Diagrams For Physics Science Fair Projects

One of the components of a science fair project is to develop a display board. The display board not only needs to contain written information about the project that the student completed, but it also needs to contain visual components that illustrate what was done and what was learned. In many types of projects a photograph is all that is required, however, in physics science fair projects diagrams are often needed.

Decide What Type of Diagram You Need

There are many different types of diagrams that a student can create for their physics science fair project. The most basic type is a labeled drawing. This drawing does not need to be to scale as it is only intended to label the various parts of what is being studied. These drawings are usually used to explain an experiments set-up or the materials used in an experiment.

The second type of diagram is a scale drawing. A scale drawing needs to include a legend which defines the scale and precise measurements of the various elements in the diagram. A scale will need to be selected that makes sense for the object being scaled.

The third type of diagram is a schematic. These are highly technical drawings that often require the use of special software. Students will seldom need to produce a schematic. Simpler versions of schematics can be produced using graphic software programs and CAD programs.

Work from Large to Small

Regardless of what type of diagram that you need to create it is a good idea to work from large details to small details. For example, if you are creating a diagram of a floor plan you would start by drawing the shape of the exterior of the building or floor. You would then create the main divisions in the building and finally add specific details to each space like wall partitions, windows and utilities. This process helps you to keep your drawing in balance and it helps to make the recreation of the object easier to do.

Identify Before Labeling

One of the tasks associated with creating a diagram for physics science fair project is labeling the elements in the diagram. Before you start labeling your diagram you need to make sure you know what everything is. By identifying things before you label you will reduce the chances that you will make a mistake. Create a list of labels that starts at the top of the page at the 12 oclock position and that rotates around the diagram clock wise.

Labeling your diagram is one of the last things that you will need to do. Labels have several parts. The first part is the line to the element. This connects the label with what the label identifies. The second part is the label. The label needs to be written clearly and it needs to be sized to fit the space. The final element is a label legend. The legend provides extra information about the labels and the diagram. Usually the legend will give the scale of the diagram, it will define codes and it will expand abbreviated labels.

The text unveils some of W.D. Gann’s most closely held planetary price-time secrets.

Through the autumn and winter of 1948, W. D. Gann hand charted the May 1949 Soybean futures contract traded on the Chicago Board of Trade (Fig. 1). Unlike much of Gann’s work, this chart survived and is publicly available from numerous sources. Many analysts have commented on this chart and a number of them have cited Gann’s use of planetary longitude in the attached chart.

Using the same chart, certain planetary lines drawn by Gann have been highlighted, as defined by the color key (see Fig. 2), showing exactly what each of these lines represents. Today, we’ve come to know these lines as “planetary price lines.” Prandelli unravels the correct application of this most intriguing, yet least understood and poorly applied principle of the great W. D. Gann. Many people have experimented with this technique and a number of software programs have functions that produce variations on this application. However, few have been able to demonstrate the true potential of this powerful tool to produce consistent tradable results.

Prandelli introduces serious traders and market researchers to the proper conversion factor never revealed by Gann. With the unveiling of this means of price-time projection, any trader or researcher can plot useful data on modern day charts with their extended price scales. The result is a fully functional tool for modern traders who are often overwhelmed with too much indecipherable, inconsistent or unreliable data.

Gann never spoke in detail about this technique. The few references from him appear only on some of his most complex and messy charts, such as shown in Fig. 1. Only the most astute Gann analysts have even deciphered and reverse engineered some of what Gann was doing in these charts. Unfortunately, these attempts have rarely provided a fully functional tool for modern traders. However, with the missing Key provided by Prandelli’s revealing research, those who purchase this text will have a straight forward forecasting tool and a logical trading strategy.

Prandelli illustrates the tools he presents with over 160 market charts and diagrams. Most of these charts focus on the S&P 500. However, the book also presents extensive material on other markets. The tools Prandelli reveals apply to any market to which a trader or analyst wishes to apply them, and work in multiple time frames from intraday to long term. Prandelli also presents a number of cyclic timing tools to help traders identify important timing points in the market which correlate with the pricing tools to help identify important high probability trading points.
